About Mrs. Westphal

Mrs. Westphal was born and raised in Seal Beach, CA and graduated from Los Alamitos High School where she participated on the Tennis, Soccer and Softball teams. She continued on to play tennis at Washington State University before completing her tennis career and Bachelor's degree in Physical Education at California State University, Bakersfield. Mrs. Westphal has also completed her Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction at California State University, Long Beach. Mrs. Westphal is now in her twenty fourth year of teaching. She has taught at all grade levels and has discovered that the high school level is where she wants to stay. While at La Quinta, Mrs. Westphal coached the Cross Country and Track and Field programs. Working with the distance runners was an extremely rewarding experience, however, she will not continue coaching due to needing to spend more time with her 15 year old daughter Hailey who is competing on her high school golf team and 11 year old son Austin.
