About Mrs. Machacon
Mrs. Darlene Machacon is an active music educator, national presenter, and author. She has more than a decade of experience directing choirs, designing and instructing elementary general music curriculum, teaching piano lessons to students of all ages, and accompanying ensembles. She firmly believes in the power of relevant music education that meets students’ social and emotional needs and has experience training other music teachers around the nation on how to create meaningful music making experiences with their students.
Mrs. Machacon has performed in Carnegie Hall, spoken in congressional briefings, and is a member of a few board committees who are committed to moving music education forward. Just recently, she was named a national recipient of the Music Teacher of Excellence award by the CMA Foundation. Mrs. Machacon has two Bachelor degrees in Music Education and Piano Performance from Biola University, as well as a Masters in Music Education degree from VanderCook College of Music. She is delighted to be a part of the LQ family and enjoys getting to know the community!
